Lesson 1 Lesson 2 Lesson 3 Lesson 4 Lesson 5 Lesson 6 End of unit Test

Lesson Objectives

  • Know the main components of a computer system
  • Understand the difference between hardware and software
  • Be able to identify the different components

Starter (10 mins)

Add the following images to the same page - think about the ones commonly found with any computer system...

  • 2 input devices
  • 1 output device
  • 1 additional storage device

Task (10 mins)

Microprocessor technology is common in our daily lives. Microprocessors are computers, usually on a single chick that are put into devices to perform all of the processing. Any device that runs a program (like your central heating/washing machine/alarm clock) will have a microprocessor
